As Green Bay’s first Japanese and sushi bar, owners Amy and Xa Lee admit they had their doubts about how a sushi bar would be accepted in Green Bay. Their fears were quickly put to rest.
“My first goal was to do more education with this area about sushi, because I think it was just a word that scared people. I really didn’t think Green Bay would take it this far, but it’s really caught people’s eyes.”
Founded in 2002, Little Tokyo opened its doors next to Lee’s Grocery Store on Broadway Street in Green Bay, a business originally owned by Amy’s mother-in-law. Years later, the grocery store was closed to make room for the expanding restaurant.
Today, Little Tokyo continues to offer up the finest in sushi and Japanese cuisine in the area, with a huge selection of appetizers, Maki and Sashimi sushi variations, and traditional Japanese dishes like Teriyaki, Udon and Soba noodles.
Little Tokyo also serves a variety of Japanese drinks, like Japanese wines and sake, as well as local and imported beers and wines. Seating is available at booths, tables, and the sushi bar, while large parties can enjoy the privacy of the expanded dining room.
“One thing about the people in Green Bay is that once they believe in you, they will stick with you.”
